ESKO COUNSELING & CONSULTING SERVICES, INC. can assist you with your personal injury cases by providing the following services:

  • INDEPENDENT VOCATIONAL EVALUATION - An in-depth evaluation with the individual to assess the extent to which he/she has incurred any vocational handicap secondary to his/her injury. This evaluation includes: Medical History; Subjective Physical/Mental Limitations; Educational/Vocational History; Testing of Aptitudes, Abilities, Achievements, Interests and Personality; Transferable Skills Analysis; Labor Market Survey; Diminution of Earning Capacity; Future Vocational or Educational Development; Future Earnings; and Summary/Recommendations.

  • MEDICAL DATA REVIEW - The development of an accurate understanding of the objective medical findings involved in each case requires a review and summary of all pertinent medical information. Emphasis is on the present disability, but also includes any related medical information.

  • TESTING - At the time of the initial interview, a vocational/psychological profile of the individual is developed using tests of intelligence, achievement, aptitude, personality, interests and abilities. The tests are administered to evaluate the individual's current functional level and assess his/her rehabilitation needs. The tests we offer include: Myers-Briggs Type Inventory; Self Directed Search; Work Values Inventory; Wahler Physical Symptoms; Employee Aptitude Survey Tests (one thru ten); Slosson Intelligence Test; Bennett Mechanical; RAVENS; Revised BETA II Examination; Wide Range Interest Opinion Test; Gray Oral Reading Test; Stanford Binnet; Slosson Oral Reading; Career Assessment Inventory; and Strong Campbell Inventory.

  • TRANSFERABLE SKILLS ANALYSIS - Transferable skills are defined as those occupationally significant characteristics not directly affected or eliminated by the individual's physical or emotional disabilities. We determine which skills he/she continues to retain and how these skills can be utilized in the current labor market.

  • LABOR MARKET SURVEY - An accumulation of facts regarding current jobs appropriate for a specific individual within a designated geographical area. The benefits of a labor market survey are to assess viability of employment goals within specific geographic areas, and to define availability of appropriate jobs within specific distances.

  • DIMINUTION OF EARNING CAPACITY - A number of factors must be considered, including an assessment of worker productivity, average earnings for most workers, growth trends in wage development, benefit package differentials, work life expectancy, and wage loss versus diminution of earning capacity.

  • FUTURE EARNINGS - Analysis of the individual's vocational history, hobbies and volunteer work is done to identify the significant occupational characteristics of his/her pre-accident work history and transferable skills which might apply to future jobs.

  • EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING OPTIONS - Vocational/technical school, junior college, or college is appropriate for some individuals, but careful consideration is necessary in each particular case before deciding on such a formal training program. Additional training and/or education is recommended to increase and enhance the individual's occupational skills, which will increase his/her marketable skills and potential income level. Documentation of specific training options are outlined and include: Program cost; Length of training; Earning capacity; and Loss wages.

  • LIFE CARE PLAN - Utilized in catastrophic cases such as head and spinal cord injuries, cardiac problems, pulmonary problems and severe burns. Life-care planning looks beyond the acute care needs caused by a profound injury in order to project the impact that such an injury will have on the individual's self-dependence, physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

  • SUMMARY/RECOMMENDATIONS - The consultant gathers all necessary information and formulates an opinion regarding the vocational handicap the individual has sustained. The opinion projects occupations that the individual may be successful in, given his/her physical limitations imposed by treating physicians, work history, educational background and transferable skills.

  • EXPERT TESTIMONY - Expert witness testimony provided by licensed, board certified consultants. All testimony is substantiated by publications, typically relied upon and utilized by other experts in the field.
